The supplier industry of the Navarrese wind energy sector and the National Renewable Energy Centre (CENER) have reached the first agreements with the main Indian agents in the same field, within the framework of the technical-commercial mission that, headed by the vice-president Manu Ayerdi, has been carried out in the Asian country.

Moreover, the Navarrese suppliers have been satisfied with the fact that their presence has aroused a great deal of interest in the Indian wind energy industry, so the prospects for concluding commercial agreements are very positive in the short term.
Work is already underway on the next commercial and institutional actions. Specifically, the Windergy fair to be held next April in New Delhi, in which the Navarre wind energy sector will participate in a shared pavilion supported by the Government of Navarre. The regional government is contributing 60,000 euros to this two-year commercial initiative, co-financed by the European ERDF programme 50%. Furthermore, at an institutional level, the visit to Navarre of the Indian ambassador to Spain is being finalised, which is expected to take place at the beginning of 2017.
International consolidation
The conference, held at a hotel in Chennai, was organised to promote an exchange of policies, legislation and situation analysis of the Indian and Navarran wind energy markets and to promote the exhibition of technologies based in Navarre.
Before the audience, the vice-president highlighted the strengths of the renewable energy sector in Navarre: 24.25% of energy consumption is covered by renewable energy and, in the specific case of electricity consumption, 83.67%.
“In the near future, Navarre will be a world leader in renewable energies with experience in R&D&I”, said Ayerdi, who also summarised the objectives of the region's new energy plan.
